Portrait of the new “King” from knock-out the king 3rd round

Knock-Out the King took place at Gamuda Yen So (Hanoi) has found the new “King” after 2 days of intense racing.

After the second round held at Binh Duong at the end of September 2018, the organizer of the off-road racing Knock-Out the King (KoK) has brought the race back to Hanoi with many changes.

3rd round of KoK off-road racing took place at Yen So (Hanoi) with new changes. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai (Hai Kar) Head of Organizing Committee is presenting the changes compared to other rounds.

Firstly, KoK 3rd round has the race track designed to be speed-oriented, similar to Rally racing. This will create opportunities for racers to increase their speed with no limitations.

Secondly, the competing time in the Final round will be 20 mins, instead of 10 mins like round 1 and 2. This is a great challenge for the drivers both in terms of endurance and technical.

Speed will be the highlight of KoK 3rd round.

On the other hand, in order to avoid hot weather as well as to ensure the best experiences, the organizer has arranged a private, air-conditioned stand area (KOK Racing Lounge) to observe the racers competing on the LED screen. Organizers issued invitations and limit the number of spectators.

Watching off-road racing live in an air-conditioned room is a new feature of KoK 3rd round.

With these changes, KoK 3rd round has brought a new approach but still impressive with off-road enthusiasts.

Typical image of KoK, due to the high competitive feature 2 teams will compete head-to-head for direct elimination, we often see stressful chasing on the track.

After successfully eliminate 18 other teams, 2 racing teams (number 90) of Nguyen Anh Tu and number 09 Hoang Giang has entered in the last round KoK.

These two drivers are familiar faces in off-road racing community, and Nguyen Anh Tu is probably has so much memories with KoK as he had to wait 8 months to fix his mistakes in the 2nd round when his car was broken only after 1 minutes of the race. Hoang Giang is one out of 3 drivers of Racing AKA – the first professional off-road racing team of Hanoi. Both has impressive and convincing performance with the audiences before getting in the final round.

Nguyen Anh Tu has come back impressively with KoK 3rd round after missing the 2nd round only after 1 minute racing.

The race was exceptionally intense and aggressive, each lap the total points between 2 racers was only a few seconds apart. However, in lap 5, Hoang Giang made a mistake when turning into the tunnel. This has greatly affected his mental during the race.

Taking advantage of this, Nguyen Anh Tu has increased the pressure for the opponents by trying to speed up and lengthen the points’ differences, putting himself ahead of the game.

Until the last round, Anh Tu was faster than the opponents by 10 seconds. With that situation, Hoang Giang could not do anything else but increase the speed as much as possible. However, by doing this he lost his control of the track as well as the trap designed by the organizer. The front tire of his car was broken when he was only a few hundred meters away from the finish line.

In the end, Nguyen Anh Tu has won the championship in a convincing way. His racing team has received a prize worth 100 million VND and the KoK 3rd round championship title.
